Here we go with lesson number two in your Photoshop training on layers. Thanks for joining me for another video and I hope you learned a TON about layers in your first lesson. It’s quite an exciting feature of Photoshop and I can’t wait to show you how layers can open up an entire world of creative possibilities.
In order to unlock the true power of layers and reap the ultimate rewards from Photoshop, you need to be using layer masks.
Layer masks allow you to take ANY adjustment you make and tailor it to the unique content of your image. For example…let’s say you add a layer to your image that increases the saturation. Well, what if there are certain parts of your image that are already saturated enough? You don’t want to add more.
By using a layer mask, you can tell Photoshop where exactly you want to add that saturation to…and at varying degrees of opacity (or strength).
Now if that seems a little confusing to you right now – don’t worry! We’ll be going over every aspect of layer masks and layer opacity in the following video.
I hope you enjoy this lesson! And as always…if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email or fill out the form below!
